Jack and his older sister Willa haven’t spoken in months, since she moved to New York without him. When he finally agrees to pay Willa a visit and see her new life, he discovers that Willa’s new boyfriend Peter is someone he already knows— and he must decide whether or not to tell Willa his secret and risk ruining the trip, and possibly their relationship as well.

Katie Royse Ginther (they/she), Director

Katie Royse Ginther is a NYC-based producer, director and actor. Originally hailing from the Seattle-area with degrees in both Psychology and Theatre, they came to NYC to grow their theatre company, Kitchen Sink Theatre Company. Katie is the 2022 Region 7 Recipient of the SDC Residency from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, as well as a 2022 Irene Ryan Acting Competition from the same festival.  Alongside their company, Katie aims to uplift queer and trans stories through live performance. Katie's NYC producing credits include: 54 Sings Diana the Musical (54 Below), STRIKE/OUT (Producer's Club), Pick*Nic (Brooklyn Art Haus and The Tank), and Poster Child (The Kraine Theater).

Caroline Ullman (she/her), Playwright

Caroline Ullman is a writer, director and producer based in Los Angeles, whose work showcases the coming-of-age story through comedy. An alumni of Emerson College, Caroline continues her career in writing, directing and producing through plays and web series including Freshly F*cked, available to stream on YouTube. Her stage work has claimed numerous accolades, including We’re Not Friends (writer, director) receiving 5 BroadwayWorld nominations including Best Direction; Charlie Boyd (director) won Best Direction at the 2019 SheLA Arts Festival; and most recently, Break (writer, director) had its world premiere at the 2024 SheLA Arts Festival. Up next, she will be co-directing “Adam is Dead”, a comedic short film which she also co-wrote.

Juan Castro (he/him), Jack

Juan Castro (he/him) is a NYC-based singer and actor. Thrilled to be back with Kitchen Sink Theatre Company, he was last seen in their concert 54 Sings Diana as Paul. He has performed in venues such as 54 Below, Symphony Space, The Laurie Beechman Theater, and The Green Room 42. Recent credits include Willy in Flora the Red Menace (Forager Theatre Company), Bobby Strong in Urinetown (The Secret Theatre), and Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Cabrillo Stage) He is looking forward to his first "straight" play reading in years! Anna Telfler (she/her), Willa

Anna Telfer is thrilled to play Willa. Recent theatre credits include Ode to the Wasp Woman (Off-Broadway), Madagascar the Musical (National Tour), & Borden: A New Musical. She is VERY excited to be working with Caroline again after a run of We’re Not Friends (SheLA Arts Festival) and the Kitchen Sink team again after 54 Below sings Diana the Musical & Hazbin Hotel. Much love to all involved!

Chris Godshall (they/them), Hugo

Chris is very excited to join to Kitchen Sink Theatre Company for this reading! A Virginia native originally, Chris had the good sense to New York in March of 2020, which they wholly admit was marvelously good timing on their part. Favorite previous productions include Romeo + Juliet (Arachne Theatre, NYC), The Importance of Being Earnestly LGBTQ+ (Gatehouse Entertainment, NYC), The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz (Vital Theatre Company, NYC), Don Adriano de Armado in Loves Labours Lost (ArachneTheatre, NYC), and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Quill Theatre, Richmond, VA). Hope you love it!

Christian Frederick Stevenson (they/he), Peter

Christian is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied acting and appeared in roles such as Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest and Arturo Ui in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.  In the past few years, he’s acted in various performances in found spaces and at the Brooklyn Center for Theatre Research in Greenpoint, including Dimes Square, Quartet, By Morning, and Winter Journey by Matthew Gasda, and Do You Feel Anger? by Mara Nelson-Greenberg. He also appeared in Sam Wood's debut NYC play The Overwhelming Urge to be Completely Destroyed at the Kraine Theater.

Gaea Lawton (she/her), Cam

This is Gaea's second production with Kitchen Sink Theater! You might recognize her from her rousing performance as stage directions in Affecting Expression back in February. Before that, she appeared in Prospect Theater Company's Musical Theater Writing Lab Showcase and performed as L in Peerless at Princeton Summer Theater. Some of her favorite roles include Jo in Little Women and Olive in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Siobhan Kiernan (she/her), Stage Directions

Siobhan Kiernan (She/Her) is a New York-based movement artist and actor. She received a BA in Theatre and Performance from SUNY Purchase College. Recent credits include Murray Hill: A Parody (Hudson Reperatory Theater), Romeo and Juliet (Glowworm Theatre Company) Shelter in Solitude (Emerald Caz Productions), Sow a Little Tenderness (Oddbat Productions). Many thanks to Kitchen Sink for showcasing the queer experience in theatre!
